Mr. Caple serves as Chairman and CEO of Hunt Southwest Real Estate Development, LLC, which focuses on the development of industrial and cold storage facilities in the Texas market.
Mr. Caple is also the President of Unity Hunt, Inc. Unity Hunt is the vehicle through which the Lamar Hunt family oversees its holdings, including its interest in Hunt Southwest. Mr. Caple develops and implements Unity Hunt’s strategic directives, and he supervises the members of the management team who are responsible for its investment, operating, legal, finance, accounting and tax functions. Mr. Caple also serves as a trustee, board member and officer of certain Lamar Hunt family trusts and related companies, including Hunt Asset Management, LLC, Hunt Capital Group, LLC, Hunt Sports Group, LLC and Hunt Midwest Enterprises, Inc.
Prior to joining Unity Hunt, Mr. Caple was the President of VFT Capital, LP, which provided seed capital, marketing assistance and operational support to hedge fund managers. While at VFT, Mr. Caple was responsible for planning and carrying-out its long-term initiatives, and he supervised its investment, operating, legal, finance and accounting efforts.
Before VFT, Mr. Caple was the President of Novo Networks, Inc. (now known as UniTek Global Services, Inc.), a publicly traded telecommunications company, where he had previously served as Senior Vice President, General Counsel and Corporate Secretary. At Novo, Mr. Caple assumed responsibility for the strategic direction of the company and the management of its operating subsidiaries, and he continued to direct its merger and acquisition activities and its legal, compliance, reporting and investor relations programs. Prior to joining Novo, Mr. Caple held legal and management positions with GTE Corporation (now known as Verizon Communications, Inc.), Chancellor Media Corporation (now known as iHeart Media, Inc.) and Marcus Cable, LP (now known as Charter Communications, Inc.). Before Marcus, Mr. Caple practiced law with the firm of Patton, Haltom, Roberts, McWilliams & Greer, LLP.
Mr. Caple received a bachelor of arts degree from the University of Texas at Dallas and a doctor of jurisprudence degree, cum laude, from the University of Arkansas. During law school, Mr. Caple served as the Managing Editor of the Arkansas Law Review.
Mr. Caple is licensed as an attorney in Texas and Arkansas, and he has been admitted to practice before the United States Supreme Court, the United States Court of Appeals for the Fifth Circuit, the United States Court of Appeals for the Eighth Circuit, the United States District Court for the Eastern District of Texas and the United States District Court for the Western District of Arkansas. Mr. Caple also received Series 7, 24, 79 and 99 securities licenses from the Financial Industry Regulatory Authority.
Mr. Caple is a member of the board of directors of the National Archives Foundation, and he serves on the law school committee for Campaign Arkansas. Previously, Mr. Caple served for six years as a member of the board of directors of the Texas Hedge Fund Association.
Hunt Southwest Real Estate Development, LLC (“Hunt Southwest”) is a Dallas-based, commercial real estate development company, which is focused on industrial and cold storage development in the Texas market.
Hunt Southwest is a joint venture between Hunt Midwest and Unity Hunt. It is the second real estate development enterprise founded by the Lamar Hunt family, following the success of Hunt Midwest, which was established in 1985. The Hunt family business is a diverse portfolio of entities involved in real estate, sports/media, energy/resources and private equity investments. Other marquee entities include the Kansas City Chiefs, FC Dallas Soccer Club, Toyota Stadium, Chicago Bulls and United Center.
